A request for proposals has been released to two shortlisted companies to bid on the P3 contract to expand the QEII Health Sciences Centre Halifax Infirmary site.
The province announced last July that EllisDon Infrastructure Healthcare and Plenary PCL Health qualified to bid on the public-private-partnership project, which includes designing, building, financing and maintaining the expansion of the infirmary site. The Infirmary project is the major piece of an estimated $2-billion QE2 hospital redevelopment plan, which is the costliest infrastructure project in the province’s history.
The deadline for the companies to submit their proposal is fall 2021. The successful bidder is expected to be announced in spring 2022.
The hospital redevelopment plan also includes a Community Outpatient Centre in Bayers Lake, the expansion and renovations of Dartmouth General Hospital, and new and renovated operating rooms at Hants Community Hospital in Windsor.
