Notice is hereby given regarding the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office (“NCSO”) solicitation for Request for Proposal (“RFP”) for Land Clearing & Earth Work- Nassau County Sheriff’s Office Public Safety Training Complex. . The following revision is being made to the original Request for Proposal.

The US and Canadian guidance for interior slopes of gun ranges is that the slopes should be no flatter than 30 degrees (1.7 horizontal:1.0 vertical). The General Notes (see Attachment) on drawing IN-1, note # 36, states the “…fill shall be placed in eight (8) inch lifts and compacted to ninety-five percent (95%) within plus or minus of two percent (2%) of the Optimum Moisture Content using the Standard Procter Density Test (ASTM 698)…” This provision of the General “Notes” is hereby waived by NCSO regarding the moisture content during earthwork compaction but will still require the fill to be compacted to 95 percent of the ASTM D-698 maximum density.
