HOLMDEL, NJ – While the Primary Election votes continue to be counted, the business of the township continues to be conducted.
On Tuesday, the governing body will hold its regular meeting. The agenda can be viewed HERE.
Among other things, the agenda includes an executive session (closed) in regard to Somerset Development (Bell Works Redevelopment) and proposed terms for an RFP for paving and sewer projects.
The latest update on the Primary Election shows DJ Lucarelli comfortably in first place with 1084 votes. Greg Buontempo extended his lead in second place with 949 votes to Vicky Flynn’s total of 903. Ron Emma trails with 844. More votes, such as provisional, are still to be counted as the race begins to wind down. Vote totals are current as of July 13th at 6PM.
After the election is certified, the local republican ‘county committee’ will reorganize with many new faces and a new majority. The reorganizations throughout the state, however, were delayed until the end of the month by Executive Orders of Governor Murphy.
The Township Committee reorganizes during the first week of 2021, after the November General Election.
