LevelTen client in quest for 500 MW of European renewables

Seattle-based clean energy procurement platform LevelTen Energy is soliciting proposals for up to 500 MW of renewable energy capacity in Europe for an unspecified client on the Old Continent.

The tender platform announced a Request for Proposals (RFP) on Wednesday, saying it is holding the procurement on behalf of “an experienced energy buyer” that aims to secure large volumes of renewable energy in Europe. The unnamed client, a member of the RE100 global corporate initiative, is expanding its power purchases in Europe, LevelTen said.

Projects with capacities ranging between 50 MW and 500 MW will be able to take part in the competitive round. The deadline for filing bids through LevelTen’s online platform is July 20, 2020.

The procurement follows the expansion of LevelTen’s clean energy procurement business to Europe last year. The US firm offers its end-to-end renewable power procurement services by applying data analytics to create mutual fund-like energy portfolios. According to its website, it pools together 757 solar and 301 wind power projects in North America to create a marketplace of roughly 109 GW.
